Job Description
Description If you’re looking to further your career in accounting and enjoy solving complex problems, Robert Half has a terrific short-term contract / temporary Staff Accountant position in the Healthcare/NHS industry for you to check out. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. You will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will play an active role in compliance, collaborate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. Based in the Elmhurst, Illinois region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.
Major responsibilities
- Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
- Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
- Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
- Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
- Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
- Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
- Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
- Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
- Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
- Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation Requirements – Microsoft Excel experience
- NetSuite experience
- Sales and use tax experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of Sales Tax
- Strong familiarity with auditing
- Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
- 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
- Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
- Knowledgeable of ERP systems
- Competent with spreadsheets and databases
- Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
- Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
- Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
