Job Description
Summary:
Meta is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Malware Reverse Engineer to join a team of security professionals in the Reality Labs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in application security, reverse engineering, harmful and malware applications analysis, with a focus on conducting security research in the Metaverse.
Required Skills:
Malware Reverse Engineer Responsibilities:
1. Identify vulnerabilities and potential attack vectors in the Metaverse ecosystem
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, security partners to influence security solutions
3. Lead projects while effectively prioritizing time spent on reversing or malware analysis based on team priorities
4. Advise and consult investigative or product teams as a subject matter expert
5. Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends and threats in the industry
Minimum Qualifications:

6. Experience with assembly language, C/C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, intermediate code and low-level programming concepts
7. Experience with operating systems (Android, Linux), ARM architecture
8. Experience with disassemblers, debuggers, and other reverse engineering tools
9. Experience with static and dynamic analysis tools for multiple systems and file formats
10. Experience analyzing and decoding network traffic
11. BA/BS in Computer Science or 5+ years relevant work experience within malware

12. Strong communication and collaboration skills
13. Experience to create their own tools to automate analysis or detection (Yara, Snort, etc)
14. Excellent analytical skills in processing large data sets
15. Familiarity with drafting scripts leveraging disassemblers like IDA or Ghidra
Public Compensation:
$143,000/year to $208,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
