Overview

Mercyhealth, an award-winning fully integrated health care delivery organization based in Wisconsin and Illinois, is seeking a  Nurse Practitioner to join our Neurology team at our state-of-the-art facility, Javon Bea Hospital-Comprehensive Stroke Center in Rockford, IL.

Opportunity:
Provide quality health care services to patients in the clinic and hospital setting under the direction and supervision of the department neurologist by performing the following duties in a compassionate and cost-effective manner.
Examine patients, perform comprehensive physical examinations, and compile patient medical data, including health history and results of examination in both hospital and clinic settings.
Administer and/or order appropriate diagnostic tests, laboratory tests appropriate for neurological patients and interpret test results.
Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, complete discharge summaries, and assist in provision of continuity of care.
Assist with in-patient hospital rounds and emergency department consultations.
Perform Lumbar punctures
Respond to code stroke, order scans, and obtain history from ED Physician/family/and nurse.
Provide telehealth services
Sub- Primary Investigator ; Screen patients to see if they are a possible candidate for research study
Credentialed at all Mercyhealth locations
Working schedule In-house 24-hour coverage (7a-7a); on 24, then off 48 (10 24-hour shifts a month)
Qualifications:
Experienced or newly graduated NPs are welcome to apply
Graduate of an accredited MSN program
Current IL RN license
Current IL APRN license
Current DEA number
WI license preferred, required to obtain upon hire
Other certifications as required
Highly collaborative and self-motivated
Ability to work very well with Neurology team and other partners
Strong communication skills when working with patients, patient families, and coworkers
Compensation:
