Position Summary
This position is responsible for the evaluation, planning, design and treatment of pediatric and adult patients with congenital or acquired facial/body anatomical deficits, within a system of outcomes-focused, digitally driven clinical protocols. Performs all phases of planning, design and fabrication of facial prostheses by either conventional, digital or combined clinical and laboratory methods. Provides technical services for the acquisition and digitization of patient data for the purposes of 3D modeling, virtual simulation, design and production of medical models for surgical and prosthetic clinical applications.

Duties & Responsibilities

Perform all phases of the design and fabrication of facial and somato adhesive and implant retained prostheses
Prepare facial molds and make impressions for implants. Design and create sculpture of absent anatomy, color prosthetic material, and fabricate and fit prosthetics.
Interview patient, perform examination, document notes, and establish treatment plan in cooperation with medical director.
Determine retention type.
Instruct patient on care and maintenance of prosthesis.
Prepare and maintain photographic records of each patient.
Enter patient clinical notes and maintain online patient medical record. Schedule patient appointments.
Follow infection control and environmental safety procedures.
Teach anaplastology fundamentals to students and residents.
Conduct research and publish articles in professional journals and books.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications


Master's degree in science, associated medical science, industrial design, or medical visualization, or equivalent required.
Certified Clinical Anaplastologist (CCA), Member of the Institute of Maxillofacial Prosthetic Technologists (MIMPT), or working towards the equivalent.
Minimum of two years clinical experience required.
