Job Description
The Process Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to Production, and identifying/implementing new processes and process improvements. This position focuses heavily on process settings, conducting complex troubleshooting, and managing improvement projects.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop manufacturing methods and processes for standard product lines.
- Establish requirements for equipment, tooling, materials and/or methods of manufacturing.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and implement and/or lead projects that improve the manufacturing process.
- Work with production to assess existing processes.
- Create process ideas to reduce costs and improve production rates.
- Perform risk assessments.
- Design and test process upgrades and new process systems.
- Ensure processes comply with safety and quality standards.
- Perform optimization tests.
- Manage tooling design, procurement, and use in production.
- Control and develop process parameters for production equipment.
- Train employees on new manufacturing practices
- Determine the best options for process improvement tactics
- Analyze current production data
- Promote efficiency and safety in the plant
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (with focus on Manufacturing) preferred.
- Proven work experience as a process engineer.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings (GD&T preferred).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Must have familiarity with MS Office and engineering software.
- Six sigma green/black belt certification (preferred)
