PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Under the direction of the Logistics Coordinator this position will be responsible for the direction of scale operations at FS Grain. Primary duties for this role include training, scheduling, and coordinating proper staffing with managers in the operations and merchandising departments.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Considered the subject matter expert for the oneWeigh, CompuWeigh, and bulk weighing systems FS Grain operations.

Demonstrate knowledge of ticket types, weights and grades, customer account selection, freight rates, and other fields of ticket entry in accordance with FS Grain policies.

Conduct new-hire and ongoing training for local full-time and seasonal scale operators.

Position will attend and complete grain grading certification with the ability to train full-time and seasonal staff on grain grading.

Ability to operate scale at all locations and fill in as scale operator in times of need.

Coordinate with Logistics, Merchandisers, and Location/Pod Managers for proper staffing given the daily demand of scale volume at each respective facility.

Conduct proper software updates and ensure consistency for scale entry screens at FS Grain's 18 locations.

Understand the relationship between the central Agris database and standalone PCs including how tickets and name IDs flow to each.

Troubleshoot technical issues regarding scale operations including, but not limited to startup errors, automation errors, and ticket entry errors.

Assist location level employees assigned with ticket reconciliation duties.

Monitor and troubleshoot Microsoft Teams channel devoted to errors made at the scale and correct in the central Agris accounting database.

Understand scale processes in relation to containers, including but not limited to recording proper container information at the ticket level and accompanying documentation.

Stay up to date with industry standards and technological offerings consistent with the responsibility of this role.

Assist in creating a positive work environment with encouraging and respectful interactions that promotes a consistent message of leadership, teamwork, profitability, and competitiveness.

Maintains a clean and professional appearance and provides courteous, timely and professional customer service.

Attends all required meetings and training programs.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience

At minimum a high school degree.

Preferred 3 years of supervisory duties.

Proven computer skills as well as a track record of working effectively with a team and with customers is required.

Prefer knowledge of cooperative philosophies and principles.

Prefer experience with agricultural weighing systems and grain grading.

Other Requirements

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, have the ability to work independently, and travel when
necessary.

Must be able to work hours beyond those considered normal when necessary.
