What we're looking for:
We are looking for someone to provide leadership and strong technical advisement for automation projects across Dover that will enable revenue growth, optimize factory costs, and improve quality and safety. This position will be responsible for initiating, coordinating, and supporting advanced technology and robotic automation projects through the project life cycle, including ideation, concept development and implementation within our Dover factories.

What you'll be responsible for in this role:
Develop automation strategies, roadmaps and initiatives to enable revenue growth and enable cost savings
Socialize and communicate automation technologies across the corporation
Develop industry network and technical supplier partnerships
Implement an automation excellence playbook to ensure Dover sites are using state of the art automation process and technology.
Collaborate with factories to perform automation assessments and create a project pipeline and forecast cost savings
Participate in NPI projects and drive successful introduction of new products, automated production and test projects from design phase to volume production.
Manage automation projects from conception through completion:
Understand and recommend equipment capabilities and specifications.
Define equipment required to achieve optimal production.
Prepare detailed project scopes of work
Technical assessment of project quotes and conceptual floor layouts
Prepare and manage schedules.
Manage installation and modifications.
Coordinate project Start-up and training.
Technical projects to include robots, cobots, vision and other automation technologies
Provide project governance for strategic CAPEX initiatives, including sponsorship through the business case approval process, including creation of ROI calculations.
Manage corporate wide project reporting process with KPI tracking, such as CAPEX spend and cost savings
Coordinate automation/controls programming and engineering functions in accordance with accepted practices and company standards.
Investigate automation system performance and identify any problems for corrective actions and solutions.
Independently evaluate existing equipment, methods, processes, and procedures.
Apply Project Management skills and tools to lead and support capital equipment and improvement projects.
Collaborate with project teams to create Factory and Site Acceptance Tests, Machinability Studies, and robotic system safety assessments
Ensure best practices are followed, such as Risk Analysis (PFMEA and Fishbone Diagrams) and Engineering Change Orders.
Responsible for review and approve PFMEA, DFMEA, PPAPs, and Standard Operating Procedures SOP and ensure that manufacturing and operations comply with.
Provide strategic direction for IOT, OT, SCADA, Data Collection and PLC interactions

What are the basic qualifications?
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial technology, or equivalent mix or education and experience
Minimum seven (7) years' experience in manufacturing or automation field
Minimum five (5) years' experience with robotics, vision technology and automation machines
Ability to travel up to 75%

What are the preferred qualifications?
Technical experience with robot and cobot projects
Project management experience related to deployment of automation systems
Familiar with general operation of mechanical devices, such as indexers, pick & place mechanisms, sensors, PLCs, stepper and servo motors
Thorough understanding of CAPEX approval process, including business case evaluation and ROI calculation methods
Direct experience designing, building, deploying and supporting automation and execution systems such as MES and SCADA
