Job Title: Software Support Engineer
Location: Lake County, IL
FLSA: Exempt, Full-Time, Direct Hire

A leading provider of electronic assembly machines and software is seeking an experienced Software Support Engineer in Lake County, IL. The main responsibilities include troubleshooting all machine and software-related issues, performing on-site installations, repairs, and programming of industrial machines and software. The qualified candidate should have one or more years of experience in network setup and database management, along with a background in technical customer service support. Training will be provided. Up to 50% of traveling expected.

Responsibilities:
Provide on-site/remote engineering support to ensure optimal performance at customer manufacturing sites.
Perform installations, repairs, retrofits, reconfigurations, and programming of industrial machines and software.
Assist clients in network configuration and administration, including setting up Windows & Database servers.
Document service logs accurately to maintain complete reporting.
Conduct customer training as needed about the company's software products.
Respond to after-hours, on-call technical support requests for customer emergencies.
Ensure services are provided following policies, protocols, and service manuals.
Escalate issues or improvement suggestions properly to meet the company's quality standards.
Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications:
One or more years' experience in a Network setup and troubleshooting role required.
Knowledge in supporting Windows OS environments required.
Some Database experience - setting up or supporting Microsoft SQL/Oracle/PostgreSQL is a plus.
Linux experience a plus.
Semiconductor and Surface Mount Technology related experience is a big plus.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
