Position Summary// The main goal of this role is to acquire practical experience in procurement and supply chain management while offering essential assistance to the team. Interns play a crucial role in supporting the team by assisting with tasks such as vendor research, contract management, RFQ/ RFP, and negotiations. This hands-on involvement not only enhances departmental efficiency but also deepens interns’ understanding of procurement’s multifaceted aspects. Inters will have chances to lead small projects under supervision. * * Essential Duties & Responsibilities · Gain understanding of commercial aspects of vendor management, key terms & conditions of supplier contracts, expiration dates, etc.* · Perform vendor contract/ NDA gap analysis, summary reporting, and ensure compliance. · Research to identify potential vendors, analyze their capabilities, and compare pricing and terms. · Support benchmarking, comparing current suppliers and contracts to industry standards, aiding in better negotiations with existing suppliers, and finding opportunities for improved value with new ones. · Support preparation of Request for Quotation (RFQ) packages, communicate with vendors throughout the process, and lead report-outs of quote comparison. * * *Knowledge & Skills · Strong analytical skills – strong MS Excel skills and ability to digging into data and deciphering complex information to facilitate decision making. · Attention to detail – razor sharp attention to details for contract review, quote analysis, etc. · Proficient communication skills – effective communication in both written and spoken with internal and external stakeholders. · Organizational skills – stay on top of assigned tasks, meet deadlines and deliverables · Business savvy – present Global Procurement with professional manners when interacting with internal and external stakeholders. · Proficient with MS Excel and PowerPoint and capable of creating visually compelling presentations for status updates and report-outs. Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience · Must be at least 18 years of age · Undergraduate student with specialization in engineering, supply chain, business, or related fields Work Environment · This is largely a sedentary role. · This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. · Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time.
