Role Snapshot
We are seeking a talented Actuarial Manager to work in our WPS Health Insurance business line. This position will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and competitiveness of our products. In this leadership position, you will leverage your actuarial expertise to directly impact our financial performance, product offerings, and long-term strategy. In this role, you will:
Lead and mentor a team of 4 Actuarial Analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. This includes providing coaching, reviewing, and overseeing work for accuracy and timeliness, and creating opportunities for professional growth.
Prepare budgets for year-end forecasts and ensuring forecasts are accurate.
Oversee and report on the financial results of various WPS health insurance products and reporting this information to executive level leadership.
Analyze data and trends to understand factors impacting future revenue and claims costs.
Recommend and implement rate adjustments, administrative changes, or other risk management strategies to achieve financial projections.
Monitor and manage the overall financial performance of all WPS health insurance products.
Review, recommend and approve rate changes for insurance products, corporate reserves, and financial reports.
Evaluate the impact of new health insurance laws and regulations on WPS products to determine financial impact on WPS Health Insurance products.

Are process improvement minded and continually seek out new and creative ways to approach challenges.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent post high school and/or related work experience
3 or more years of related work and/or leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree specifically in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Risk Management, or Statistics
5 or more years of related experience, including 3 or more years of experience in the health insurance industry
2 or more years staff supervision with direct program responsibility
Associate of the Society of Actuaries designation
