Business Data Analyst involves analyzing business problems and issues by gathering data from both internal and external sources to provide valuable insights to analysts and decision-makers. This includes identifying trends and patterns within datasets to understand underlying influences. Additionally, the position entails creating specifications for reports and analyses based on business requirements and available data elements. Collaboration within cross-functional teams is key to addressing various business issues effectively.
Furthermore, the role involves prototyping solutions tailored to display information according to business needs and actively participating in multiple projects throughout the year. Additionally, providing business analyst support for existing digital products within the portfolio may also be part of the responsibilities.
Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelors degree with 2+ years experience
- Masters degree with 2+ years experience
- Associates degree with 6+ years experience
Technical Skills
Required:
- Experience in design and prototyping dynamic views and visualizations for large and complex data sets in Tableau and/or Power BI
- practical experience delivering production deployed solutions
- Visual design expertise & passion for graphic design
- Design thinking experience
- Working knowledge of one or more programming languages
- Create innovative solutions to solve business problems
- Experience with data structures using SQL
Desired:
- Strong knowledge of SQL, DevOps, Excel, Alteryx, Snowflake, Python is a plus
Soft Skills Required:
- Good communication skills
- Self-starter and driven while working well in team environment
- Strong attention to detail in order to spot inaccuracies in coding or data
Typical task breakdown:
- This position will be responsible for supporting processes and Senior Business Analysts in Condition Monitoring projects.
- The incumbent will be responsible for identifying, consolidating, and cleaning data and will seek to understand data dependencies, definitions, and data owners.
- The incumbent in this position will be an individual contributor working with a group of Senior Business Analysts.
- This position will participate on cross-functional project teams and may be asked to compile insight reports for Senior leaders and advisors.
- This position works directly with business partners on projects to understand informational needs of end users and create reporting/visualization solutions that turn data into critical information to
ultimately drive sound business decisions.
- These projects may include prototype, develop, iterate, test, and deploy into production automated reporting solutions.
- This position will incorporate statistical methods and/or digital methods to solve business problem.
