Located in the Wood Dale, Illinois area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. This position is for candidates with the ability to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. This position will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. This is a job where someone with a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets can thrive.
Responsibilities
- Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
- Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested
- Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives
- Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
- Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
- Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
- Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
- Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
- Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
- Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management
- Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision
- Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations
- Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries Requirements – Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
- Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Recent and relevant accounting experience
- Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
- Efficient in ERP systems
- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated knowledge of NetSuite
- Foundational knowledge in journal entries
- Proficiency in Intercompany Accounting
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of Lease Accounting
- Adeptness in Corporate Treasury
- Fixed assets experience desired
- General familiarity with Bloomberg
- Account reconciliation experience
- Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
- Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
- Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
- Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
