Job Description
Essential Function 1
Analyze and recommend approval or disapproval of requests for new operating and program authority from private entities seeking to offer career and technical education in Illinois.; annual review of approved private business and vocational schools and programs, review of other application types; investigate and develop cases for revocation of institutional authorizations when regulatory non-compliance is discovered.
Essential Function 2Assist with keeping abreast of relevant federal and state laws, legislation, rules, regulations, and developments in the field of institution and program authorization and approval.
Essential Function 3Support the Director in the development and implementation of policies and initiatives that advance departmental and agency goals and priorities relative to postsecondary education
Essential Function 4Investigate and resolve student complaints
Essential Function 5Assist with the collection and analysis of data for reporting purposes
Essential Function 6Participate in commissions, tasks forces, and various advisory committees to advance higher education initiatives related to agency goals and state priorities
Essential Function 7Perform other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications 1Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
Minimum Qualifications 2A total of one (1) year (12 months) in education, training and/or work experience*
*Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience
Preferred Qualifications 1Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and investigate multiple sources of information to determine conclusions and make written recommendations grounded in evidence consistent with statute and rules
Preferred Qualifications 2Ability to create and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying levels of responsibility and backgrounds
