What to Expect
Tesla Motors seeks a motivated, experienced, knowledgeable Quality Specialist to work in the Parts Distribution Center. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing, warehousing, or distribution environment, preferably involving work with medium to high-volume products. The Quality Specialist will work with prominent stakeholders, both strategic and tactical, as well as all aspects of the distribution center operation, to support a robust quality organization while understanding operational bottlenecks and system capabilities/needs. This individual must be a problem-solver, have a strong quality & customer-focused mindset, and have the personal drive and stamina for relentless, continual improvement.What You'll Do
Comprehend and contribute to quality trends based on established metrics, process controls, and audits conducted within the distribution center
Analyze and interpret data independently while providing root cause analysis, identifying and implementing short/long term countermeasures through Zoho data collection
Manage nonconforming material through the MRB process to ensure that nonconforming material is identified, appropriately dispositioned, tracked, and reported
Provide data input and output reports to assist in quality improvement activities
Collaborate with engineering teams to support investigation, containment and execution for strategic quality issues
Champion all things quality and uphold/expect compliance to rigorous standards and process controls
Take part in ongoing optimization of the operation with respect to both cost, process, material and information flows What You'll Bring
Demonstrated leadership skills with Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices, 5S, TPS, TQM, etc
Quality systems experience in high-volume manufacturing/distribution
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (part sorting, material moving, etc) and operate material handling equipment (i.e. forklift, etc.)
Effective communication of issues and defects to management
Composure in critical situations and dynamic, fast-paced environments
Strong detail-oriented, organizational, and data interpretation skills
Proficiency with technology tools, including personal computing hardware and standard software.
