SUMMARY: The estimator is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate quote delivery to our customers; thus, reviewing customer specifications and drawings, developing bills of materials and evaluating labor requirements to accurately estimate project costs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
Analyze and interpret blueprints to prepare time, cost, material, and labor estimates and understand manufacturing requirements.
Analyze historical quotes to create and ensure competitive bids for future products/projects.
Consults with clients, vendors, and other internal personnel to formulate estimates and resolve issues.
Manage estimating process from request for proposal to internal review of completed proposal.
Assists with the creation of cost standards in the estimating process to ensure consistency in pricing and competitiveness.
Works as part of a cross functional team on special projects.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Able to read complex engineering drawings and schematics.
Knowledge of fabrication equipment and tooling and their capabilities.
Solid knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and their capabilities.
Strong project management and leadership skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Strong computer software skills.
Ability to work independently or as a part of a team.
Ability to communicate effectively, both in oral and written forms.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and time to meet all specified deadlines.
Education And/Or Experience
Associate degree in engineering or technical program preferred.
3 to 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience preferred.
Experience in metal fabrication is highly favorable.
