Job Description

Software Engineer II for HERE North America, LLC in Chicago, IL to perform research activities and develop and implement software on HERE’s products; create software solutions with new or different characteristics that offer new or additional benefits to the customer; modify existing products or formulate an entirely new product that satisfies a newly defined customer want or market niche; plan, design, develop and test software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products, including cloud-based products, using subject matter expertise in Java, JavaScript, JSON, and Yamt; perform a range of assignments related to the software engineering discipline in a cloud environment, as well as perform software server-side and web-based implementation; use prescribed guidelines or policies to analyze situations; understand key business drivers and apply this understanding to develop new features and functionalities using GitLab, Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) pipelines, Kubernetes, Shell, Apache Flink and Kafka; and provide guidance to new team members; analyze possible technical solutions. Requires: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus five (5) years of software server-side and web-based implementation experience or alternatively a Master's degree and three (3) years of experience as noted above. Experience must include (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): Scala; Java; JavaScript; JSON; AWS; Postgres SQL; Git; Continuous Integration and Continuous Development pipelines; Shell; Apache Flink and Kafka; REST API; and Unit, Integration and Performance Testing.
