Job Duties

Research, design, and develop computer programs. Analyze user needs and develop solutions. Responsible for application development, including researching projects, creating system design, writing, testing, debugging and deploying code. Perform application design and implementation in a Linux environment. Perform code reviews and maintain code repository in version control systems. Implement high performance connectivity through REST APIs and websockets to exchanges and other transactional platforms, including banks and blockchains used to obtain semi-real time view of order fills, fees, prices, and capital and inventory inflows and outflows. Parse and load data from exchanges into a mySQL database. Build data validation and reconciliation processes to ensure full data integrity. Provide data to traders, clearing, accounting, and tax departments.

Telecommuting permitted 100%. Position reports to company HQ in Chicago, IL.

Job Requirements

Position requires a master’s degree in computer science, or a related field and 1 year of experience.

Must include some experience with each of the following:

1. Development experience using Python, C++, Javascript, and Linux.

2. Understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and parallel programming.

3. Development experience with REST API’s and websockets, and familiarity with networking and IP protocols.

4. Working with mySQL database.

5. Understanding of financial principles.

6. Understanding of cryptocurrency and blockchain principles.
