Job Description
A union shop that manufactures trash chutes, replacement doors, linen chutes, and tenant storage lockers. We also supply trash compactors, bike racks, corner racks, mailboxes, corner guards, and other architectural specialties. The facility has about 10 employees and is looking for long term shop laborers to join the team. After 60 working days, candidates are automatically brought into the local union and eligible to receive benefits.
Description:
Load sheets of steel into a Rolling Machine (unrolls the coil of steel)
Adjust the machine depending on the thickness of the steel
Perform MIG welding on mild and stainless steel that is usually 16 gauge thick
Horizontal and vertical welds mostly on table in front of them or off the ground
Seem welds to connect the metal chutes
Utilize a hand grinder to smooth out the welds
Work off of a blueprint
1st shift ($18 – $21/hr)
7:00am to 3:30pm
+ overtime as needed (typically coming in at 5:00 am)
