Job Description

Summary This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision, Chicago Regional Office of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support to both the regional/area and field offices in their respective business functions, serving as a source for information management and system needs. Responsibilities At the full performance level, major duties include: Assists in the maintenance, retrieval and delivery of financial and statistical data information through reports, tracking, and managing end user access to FDIC’s databases, propriety systems, and other electronic sources used for the examination and supervision of financial institutions. Provides support to both the regional/area and field offices in their respective business functions, serving as a source for information management and system needs. Serves as the primary Information Security Administrator (ISA) for regional RMS/DCP personnel, which includes preparing system requests, generating approval actions, and troubleshooting security related issues to ensure proper access is granted to end users in a timely manner. Coordinates computer software, access, and training needs for new hires/detailees across divisions. Corresponds with corporate employees, DIT contractors, state users, and managers about user errors, system malfunctions, and resolutions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. GS-7: To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 6 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience providing administrative and technical support in examination functions to generate ad hoc reports, or to assist in database development and administration. GS-8: To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 7 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience providing administrative and technical support in examination functions to generate ad hoc reports, to enforce information security policies, procedures and practices, to manage access and data resources for multiple users, or to assist in database development and administration. Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.
