Job description The Goddard School located in Chicago (South Loop), IL 60616 is looking for motivated self-starters for multiple positions as a Daycare Teachers at our new preschool for ages ranging from 6 weeks to 6 years. Our state of the art facility is expanding in the South Loop neighbourhood of Chicago downtown, just blocks away from CTA and Metra Electric. Overview A Toddler Teacher is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment. Additionally a teacher is responsible to work together with another teacher and in conjunction with the entire faculty. Educational Qualifications * An Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Elementary Education, Child Development or a related field. * Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Elementary Education, Child Development or a related field is preferred. * Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification. Toddler Teacher Responsibilities: * Establish and maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment * Develop an appropriate classroom management system to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom * Ensure that children are always within state ratio requirements * Perform cleaning responsibilities (e.g., spills) immediately * Advance children’s physical and intellectual competence * Adapt program to meet the individual needs of each child * Create a multi-cultural learning environment * Provide a variety of developmentally appropriate activities to engage children in learning * Respect cultural and ethnic diversity * Communicate, in a professional manner, with families and faculty * Encourage families to become an integral part of their children’s learning experiences * Maintain a portfolio for each child * Maintain the classroom Parent Board * Perform child observations and document in their portfolios, Use assessment tools (e.g., Progress Reports, Children’s Progress) * Attend faculty meetings, in-service days, conferences and professional growth opportunities. #Signing Bonus #Daycare #Toddler #Assistant Teacher #Childcare Job Type: Full-time Benefits: * 401(k) * 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Employee assistance program * Employee discount * Health insurance * Paid time off * Professional development assistance * Referral program * Retirement plan * Tuition reimbursement * Vision insurance Schedule: Monday to Friday Work Location: In person
