About Us:

SWD Inc. opened for business in March 1980 with three employees in a 9,000 sq. ft. leased facility and began black oxiding, cleaning, and pickling operations with used equipment. In late 1980, the company began passivating stainless steel and in 1981 purchased Fastener Sorting Corporation. Today, a recognized leader in the Metal Finishing and Fastener Sorting fields, SWD Inc. has over 200 employees and runs three shifts per day in its 165,000 sq. ft. facility just west of Chicago in Addison, Illinois.

What We’re Seeking:

SWD Inc. is in the process of adding 3 new lines to our production departments and is expanding our Addison, IL. facility. That means we are growing, and growing fast! We are seeking a full-time Dip Spin Paint Technician. We have openings on our 1st shift. This full-time role must also be able to work Monday-Saturday!

+ 1st shift:7am-3pm, starting at $18.50/hr

Position Summary

The Dip Spin Paint Technician will be responsible for performing tasks that ensure the paint that is used to coat the parts are up to standard by maintaining order in the paint room and performing quality testing on the paints. In-depth training will be required in order to prepare for their daily duties.

Responsibilities/Duties:

- Performing Machine Operator Level 1 duties

- Testing paint viscosities

- Changing paints from the line

- Mixing paints

- Testing paint solids

- Performing paint inventory

- Cleaning paint skirts and paint pots

- Transferring paint from drums into pails

- Disposing paint waste

- Maintaining cleanliness of the paint room

- Practice safe work habits, following outlined policies and procedure

- Operate a Forklift

- Be aware of SWD Inc., company policy and procedures, including the quality system as defined by QS-9000 and ISO-14001 and outlined in the SWD Inc.’s quality and environmental systems policy and procedure manuals

Necessary Skills:

- Basic reading, writing and math skills

- Strong communication and listening skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment

- Handle heavy equipment

- Ability to work independently and with a team

- Physical stamina and strength

- Attention to detail

Physical Requirements:

- Regularly required to stand for 8 hours

- Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools or controls

- Occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms

- Occasionally required to communicate verbally and in writing

- Occasionally/regularly lift or move up to 40 pounds

- Vision abilities required include close vision, color vision and ability to focus

- Regularly subject to high noise levels
