Description:

Reporting to the Nurse Manager and under the general supervision of a Charge Nurse assists both nurses and physicians with patients in the Emergency Department by performing both basic and complex patient care procedures.

Current certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant OR an Emergency Medical Technician – either Ambulance, Intermediate or Paramedic preferred.

One (1) year of previous experience in an Emergency Department setting preferred.

Completion of a High School Diploma or its’ equivalent.

Current CPR certification at time of hire.

ACLS certification (Advance Cardiac Life Support) at time of hire or within six (6) months of hire.

Completion of a Basic Arrhythmia Class at time of hire or within six (6) months of hire.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within six (6) months to one (1) year of hire.

Effective communication skills both written and verbal in order to communicate with patients and their families as well as all levels of hospital staff.

Prior experience with a computer including data entry.
