Target hiring range for this position will be between $50,000-$95,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Job Summary:
The Assistant Swimming Coach reports to the Director of Swimming and Diving and assists with the coaching and training of the Swimming and Diving Team.
*Willingness and ability to work a non-traditional schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays as required. *
Responsible for adhering to all Department and University policies and procedures, as well as the rules, regulations, bylaws and interpretations of the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA.

Specific Responsibilities:
Coaching
- Assist the head coach in the coaching and training of Northwestern’s Swimming team; developing and conducting all in-season and out-of-season sessions throughout the year as deemed necessary and appropriate.
- Aid the head coach in the psychological preparation of team in both pre-game and post-game; and for developing motivational approach to practice and meets.
- Assist with filming and technique instruction.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of swimming in decision-making, delegating authority and in setting objectives.
Administrative
- Must be fully knowledgeable and adhere to all rules and regulations of the NCAA, Big Ten Conference (as applicable) and Northwestern University as amended from time to time.
