Job Description

Gen. Med./Pulmonary Unit Information:
*48 bed unit with patients ranging in age from birth to young adulthood. *Specialization in respiratory illnesses: asthma, RSV, flu, bronchiolitis, cystic fibrosis & pneumonia.
* Also care for a wide variety of patients with general medical needs including medically complex patients with chronic conditions & behavioral issues.

Position we are hiring for:
*12 hr. Nightshift and every third weekend
* Staff must remain in current position for at least six months before qualifying for position changes.
*Position openings for different start times will be released by the Scheduling Committee based off of unit needs; positions are filled by seniority

Minimum Qualifications:
BSN, RN preferred.
ASN permitted if willing to return to school for BSN within 2 years of hire.
Current licensure as an RN in the State of Illinois, active and in good standing. Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
Minimum of one year experience in hospital setting required.
Pediatrics required.

Orientation:
*14 weeks of 1:1 precepted orientation
*Orientation classes including skills day, assessment classes, general medicine class day, behavioral health training (Welle), clinical exchanges, BLS & PALS.
