Job purpose
The Finance Internship is located at our Corporate Headquarters in Chicago. This position will apply accounting principles to assist in the completion of the Companys month-end closing process, preparation of financial reports, analysis of financial results, and Summer SOX testing at various plant locations. As necessary, this position will provide analytical support and be directly involved in one or more special projects.
Duties and responsibilities
In addition to hands-on experience in Accounting or Finance, the Amsted Rail Finance Summer Internship will afford the intern:
- formal orientation and on-boarding
- individualized development, including an evaluation
- regular interface with Finance team and leadership
- visits to one or more of our manufacturing plants
- intern group project
- intern outings and summit
- end of internship presentation to the Leadership Team
- interactions with our Senior Leaders throughout the program
Qualifications
- Medium to Advanced Excel experience with knowledge of functions such as Vlookup and Pivot Tables
- Knowledge of General Accounting Guidelines (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley controls (SOX) and ability to travel 2-3 weeks to plants for summer SOX testing
- Motivated individual that is able to multitask and stay detail oriented
- Preferably an accounting/finance major completing sophomore year or higher
