The Associate Engineer Technical Services provides technical support/advanced troubleshooting and drives continuous product, process, and packaging improvement at Mars Wrigley factory locations. The position is a member of the Mars Supply Excellence (MSE) Focused Improvement (FI) Pillar and supports Quality Pillar initiatives; leads/executes improvement projects and mentors/trains others in problem solving methodologies. Additionally, this role manages Packaging quality compliance-related tasks necessary to support the factory operations and Quality Management Programs (QMP).

What are we looking for?
Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or closely related scientific/technical discipline OR Combination of 4-year degree and 2+ years of demonstrated success in relevant manufacturing/quality experience.



Preferred Requirements

  • Six Sigma Green Belt
  • 2-3 years of experience in food packaging and/or processing, with an understanding of processes and machine operation



What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Develops and implements financial and quality continuous improvements (CI) through the application of complex problem-solving techniques, contributing to overall site CI goals through the completion of at least 2 Six Sigma projects per year.
  • Incident support for raw and pack materials to enable Material Quality Management compliance. Lead investigation, documentation, and liaison with Vendor Contacts. Upskill & coach Associates and identify Specification opportunities.
  • Site champion for governance and management in Statistical Process Control (SPC) of finished product specifications and Key Quality Attributes to be delivered by Supply. Actively monitors and optimizes quality related SPC processes for the lines and deploys system upgrades.
  • Participates in Quality Management Programs (QMP) such as but not limited to Food Safety/HACCP, Internal Audits, Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA's)
  • Coaches, trains, and guides associates across the site to improve the effectiveness and competency across the technical services, quality and innovation community.
  • Responsible for continuously improving their area of responsibility to increase efficiency and provide greater business value
  • Implements new and improved products, processes, systems, methodologies, and packaging.
  • Designs, manages, communicates, and documents line trials for Site led initiatives.
  • Supports development of standard run conditions as part of new product/process/pack validation
