Surgical Scheduler, Surgical Services

Position Highlights:
Position: Surgical Scheduler
Location:Evanston Hospital
Full Time/Part Time: Full-time (40 hours)
Hours: Rotating 8-hour shift, M-F, between 8am-5pm
Travel:travel to other medical group locations in Glenview, Skokie, Buffalo Grove, Highland Park and Lincolnshire may be required.

What you will do:
Utilize Epic to schedule all new, established, and post-op patients in accordance with patient and physician preferences, physician availability, and practice protocols
Receive, keep track of, and organize surgery requests
Accurately enter in OpTime or communicate to the OR team the appropriate surgical procedure and any special equipment or needs that each case requires
Ensure patients receive appropriate instructions surrounding their surgery/procedure
Coordinate pre-operative testing (including, but not limited to lab tests, diagnostic tests, and intra-operative tests)

What you will need:
Education: High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required
Experience: Patient Support Associate for 6 months or related experience and/or training.
Working knowledge of Microsoft office programs, preferred
EPIC knowledge and experience, preferred
