Job Description
What this job involves:
The Benefits Director is responsible for overseeing the operation and administration of employee Health and Welfare and Retirement programs, including shared responsibility for outsourcing services (Benefits Solutions Group). This role will serve as a subject matter expert in the areas of benefits administration and design and contribute to the continuous improvement model across all areas of benefit programs and processes. You will handle projects that require in-depth knowledge and experience and act as a resource for colleagues with less experience. You will contribute to an exceptional employee experience through ongoing management of customer service by vendors and liaison with the HR Service Center.
This role will be staffed in our Chicago office at the AON Center 2 days a week, and provides work from home flexibility 3 days per week.
What your role will look like:
Plan Administration
Lead major annual programs such as annual enrollment and all ongoing enrollment opportunities
Responsible for administering health and welfare and retirement (qualified and non qualified) programs
Assists with implementation of benefit programs, vendors and design changes. In some instances will lead implementations on smaller projects.
Conducts benefit orientation meetings with individuals and groups, as needed
Review and audit payroll and vendor interface files as needed
Reviews and maintains plan documents . Responsible for keeping documents up to date and in compliance.
Handle complex escalations for claims, eligibility, benefit and program payouts/rewards, premium reconciliation and audits.
Responsible for complex processes such as HSA funding or payroll audits and retiree plan correction processes
Contributes to the communication strategy and leads complex communication deliverables
Provides key support and resource for transition groups
Vendor management and integration
Support in management of all external vendors. In some cases acts as the main liaison.
Support and manage internal partners such as HRIS, HRBPs, HR Service Delivery, Finance, IT, Payroll, and Communications. In some cases acts as the main liaison.
Participate in data review of plan performance from all vendors
Completes and analyses benefit comparisons with other businesses for incoming transitions or acquisitions
Compliance
Responsible in the reporting and benefit administration requirements for all Federal, State and Local government agencies.
Assure legal and regulatory compliance in the design and administration of the JLL benefit plans and programs
Continuous Improvement
Modify process/program as appropriate to assure success.
Contribute to a continuous improvement model with clear objectives and metrics
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience in benefits related field required
Experience with nonqualified retirement plans required
CEBS or similar certification a plus
Strong analytical and communication skills required
Experience leading a team of benefits professionals required
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point required
