Overview

 

Element has an opportunity for a Vibration Technician III - Dynamics to join our rapidly expanding team in Rockford, IL. Our Rockford lab has environmental test chambers that are capable of replicating high and low temperatures, humidity, and altitude conditions. We provide world-class dynamics testing services including several electrodynamic shaker systems capable of testing all forms of vibration, sine-on-random, classical, and pyrotechnic shock.
Responsibilities

 

Prepare/Perform vibration and shock testing for engineering, development, qualification, and acceptance campaigns
Review, Develop and Modify testing procedures, maintaining test lab and equipment - shaker tables, amplifiers, instrumentation
Provide technical and engineering leadership, and supports the development of new technologies within a local laboratory
Interact with customers on technical issues and questions
Possess a associates degree in a science or testing related field or 5 years of relevant experience
Experience conducting vibration testing for OEM's, aerospace, military, and other global customers
Experience with classical shock testing, drop testing, acceleration, and SRS
Proficient knowledge and skill working with various sensors (accelerometers, strain gauges, force links / load cells, PTs, TCs, etc.)
Knowledge of control system softwares (VR, etc.)
Proficiency with relevant aerospace testing standards (SMC-S-016, MIL-STD-810, RTCA DO-160, etc.)
Have the ability to work on well-defined issues, standard and/or routine tests, without significant guidance or supervision
Prepare test set-ups for testing mounting EUT's, Accelerometers, and other items needed for vibration, shock or Acceleration testing
Conduct crane operations to move heavy EUT's, Test Fixtures and other items as needed
Review test requirements, SOWs, fixture design, etc.

 


Skills / Qualifications

 

Possesses a recognized scientific or engineering qualification, normally at a Bachelor degree level and/or 2-4 years of significant experience in a testing related field through which an equivalent level of knowledge has been attained
Vibration View Software experience a plus.
HS diploma or GED certificate preferred. College or vocational school coursework welcomed
In-depth understanding of testing concepts
Analyzes and compiles testing data from the tests performed
Possess strong computer skills.
