Description:

This position will work as a grinder, set up, adjust and operate various CNC or manual grinders to perform a series of grinding operations such as O/D, I/D, boring, and facing on components used for the manufacture of precision mechanical components. Follow quality and safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.

Job Functions

Work from blueprints, process sheets, tooling instructions, and standard charts to identify component/manufacturing specifications.

Efficiently set up, adjust and operate multiple grinding machine types within the department (i.e. I/D, O/D, Centerless and Face).

Required to create or improve set up instruction sheets and PCR’s as needed.

May be required to operate multiple machines.

Will be required to train less experienced operators.

Verify conformance of machined work-pieces to specifications using gauges and related measuring devices.

Ability to modify existing CNC program to create finished product.

Inspect own work for correct dimensions and ensure that company quality and quantity standards are maintained and complete required documentation. Will be required to inspect the work of other machinists.

Compute such data as dimensions, rotation speeds, feed rates, and machining times.

Work with supervisor, programmer & support teams to resolve problem situations as required.

Rotate between various department work centers as required.

Perform advanced troubleshooting and make appropriate adjustments.

Set up and verify preset gauges for proper calibration as required.

Enters data into ERP system.

Supports RBS activities.

Use hand tools and manual machines as needed

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Load and unload component piece parts with weights up to 25 lbs.

Job Requirements

5 years or more of experience with grinding experience

Ability to read blueprints and set up machines to specifications

This position requires the applicant to be a US Person with a US permanent residence.
