Senior Billing Specialist

Job Description

Description: Responsible for monthly billings, assisting the billing team with reconciliations to revenue, and acting as a billing liaison to General Accounting and Project Managers.

Responsibilities:

+ Consistently calculates, processes, distributes, files, and posts monthly/quarterly invoices for projects as assigned and when covering when team members are out.

+ Research projects to ensure their accuracy and adherence to the contractual terms. Ensures billing matches the revenue calculated per the PSR and notes any timing differences or other variances and researches where appropriate

+ Identifies inconsistencies/problems with billings and works to resolve. Resolves complex billing issues involving multiple areas such as project setup, contractual requirements, cost share and unallowable expense

+ Ensure billing provides all supporting documentation for project billings including creating and submitting of sponsor customized invoicing support, SF425 data, and any other reporting requirements to ensure adherence to billing guidelines established within the Briefs. Reviews and prepares/maintains complex sponsor-requested spreadsheets

+ Manage and review all contract change orders to ensure they are billed properly and to proactively address any potential anomalies

+ Maintains the Billing vs Revenue reconciliation until all the variances have been cleared

+ Research’s inconsistencies/potential problems at the project level and works with team and/or Manager to resolve the issues

+ Assists General Accounting with Unbilled Analysis

+ Assists with Project close PCR

+ Maintains royalty payment distribution worksheet and initiates payments

+ Provides 606 Analysis at year end

+ Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

+ At least 7 years’ experience in project accounting / billing

+ BS degree in Accounting / Business or related field

+ Experience with contracts and government invoicing a plus
