Description:

The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator maintains an integrated emergency management program by establishing a system approach to emergency management planning, preparedness, response and mitigation in line with the Joint Commission’s Emergency Management Chapter and in conjunction with Federal, State, Regional and County partners.

What you will do:

+ Establish and conduct emergency management meetings, providing templates, and plans, which encourage a coordinated and collaborative system response, including compliance of off-site locations with emergency management response plans and the required annual exercise.

+ Participate in Environment of Care and applicable facility operations meetings to report on the state of emergency management program and address/respond to related questions/policies.

+ Ensure ongoing compliance of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) in all aspects of the emergency management program.

+ Develop goals, objectives, timelines, and After Action Reports (AARs) detailing improvements and deliverables. Ensure that approved recommendations for improvement identified during AARs, emergency management critiques, and/or incident debriefs are included in updated versions of emergency management plans (system and departmental).

+ Develop, update and publish emergency management policies, plans and procedures. Recommend revisions as necessary and submit for committee approval prior to publication. Provide system approach to policies where applicable.

+ Conduct an annual Hazard Vulnerability Analyses and 96-Hour Capability Surveys.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.

What’s required:

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Business management, Disaster Management, or other related fields.

+ Master’s degree preferred.
