Job Description

J&J Snack Foods Corporation is an American manufacturer, marketer, and distributor of branded niche snack foods and frozen beverages for the food service and retail supermarket industries. Its products include such icons as SUPERPRETZEL and ICEE, fan favorites like Luigi’s Italian Ice, The Funnel Cake Factory Funnel Cakes, and Tio Pepe’s Churros, as well as a host of other products spanning the baked goods, frozen beverages, and frozen novelties categories.

Hill & Valley Bakery, a division of J&J Snack Foods has an opening for a Production Manager to join their dynamic team. This position oversees the bakery production process including mixing, baking and packing while creating a culture and process that identifies and maintains continuous improvement of yield, efficiency, quality, cleanliness, and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and enforce policy, procedures, and culture consistent with the Plant Manager’s direction that control and improve:

  • Continuously take independent action, perform daily analysis, and provide corrective action recommendations to:

  • Yield & Efficiency
  • Develops, maintains, and adjusts production standards and specifications to reflect processes over three shifts.
  • Partners with Human Resources to develop and enforce Company rules, mission, and policies in a fair and consistent manner as well as develop long term goals and values that maintain a positive and diverse culture in the workplace. Develop specific training needs inside the organization and effective plans to bring awareness and education.
  • Develop and manage subordinates including Production Supervisors and Leads to maintain production and staffing needs.
  • Interact with Quality Manager and customer auditors and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customer specifications.
  • Adhere to all environmental, health and safety requirements and procedures.
  • Responsible for food safety and quality.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

    • Monday to Friday

    Experience:

    • Consumer product manufacturing: 7 years (Required)
    • Working with suppliers and distributors: 5 years (Preferred)
    • Quality system audits: 5 years (Required)
    • Managing large departments: 5 years (Required)
