Job Title: Shipping Clerk

Reports to Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor
Fair Labor Standards Act Status (FLSA): Exempt Non-Exempt X Hourly
Summary of the Position:
The shipping clerk is responsible for shipping, recording and controlling all shipping documents and orders internally and externally.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Records and controls all shipping documents.
- Ships orders through the Warehouse Management System (WMS)/QAD.
- Calls carriers for pick-ups.
- Interacts with internal and external customers.
- Ensures that orders are being communicated to the wave planner when carriers show up for pick-up.
- Ensures carriers sign bill of lading correctly.
- Prepares daily work orders for Operations.
- Maintains clean work area at all times. Helps staff in cleaning efforts as directed by department supervisor. General office activities and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP, SQF, and regulatory requirements.
- Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality.
- Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management.
- Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills and information within assigned team and across functional areas.
- Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two plus years of experience with shipping and receiving documentation required.
- Material handling equipment certification preferred.
- Good math skills required.
