Job Description

CDW Technologies LLC seeks a Sr. Solutions Specialist – Data to perform the following duties:

• Provide data consulting solutions for customer’s digital experience, including the design, development, systems integration and testing of software, systems, and databases.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of Data projects and associated personnel, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure that client service delivery is effectively managed on all dimensions: budget, timeline, quality, deliverables/outcomes, collaboration and communication.
• Regularly serve in the lead consultant role on project team to provide guidance to other team members.
• Serve as the executive program manager with responsibility for managing client expectations for specific Data projects, while seeking and fostering additional opportunities with clients.
• Responsible for managing the quality assurance process to deliver quality on-time deliverables.
• Identify all points of contact from the system perspective and establish contact with necessary stakeholders.
• Review business and technical requirements from multiple user areas to ensure compatibility, identify gaps and inconsistencies, and eliminate conflicting requirements.
• Understand the business factors and motivators driving technology decisions with clients.
• Determine business requirements, technical requirements, and solution architecture for clients.
• Provide input to final recommendations for technology solutions to meet business requirements.
• Review and understand all assigned Statement of Work (SOW) in/out-of-scope activities and deliverables prior to services delivery.
• Provide technical team leadership and guidance to a project’s technical team by: assigning analysis, design, and development tasks to team members; coordinating all technical team responsibilities such as installation, configuration, development, deployment, and support of user testing; conducting technical reviews of all materials and deliverables for content, consistency, and accuracy of the solution.
• Provide installation/configuration, solution design, development, and support to clients via services delivery, including development of technical and conceptual specifications in support of the overall solution design; development of data related files, data conversion solutions and designs, and interfaces to other application systems.
• Test solutions for data integrity, performance, and usability.
• Document completed solution design, development, installation, and configuration work for the client.
• Maintain technical specifications throughout the development process and complete technical design inspection of other team members.
• Communicate status of engagement to the customer, Sirius’ Services management, and Sirius reps as appropriate during the engagement.
• Gather feedback and input from team members and work with senior project staff to optimize client relationship and improve quality.
• Maintain accountability to work estimates and project financials.
• Support Data practice presales activities.
• Provide programming, testing, application administration/configuration and integration using Thoughtspot, Hadoop, Spark, Hive, NoSQL and Zepline.
• Perform data modeling and scripting for the extraction, load and transform needed to build the analytical model, using Python and SQL scripts.
• Support database administration and cloud computing projects.
• Test data warehousing applications for functionality, data integrity, performance, and usability using Hortonworks and HDP/HDF Cluster Management (Ambari).
• Work with a variety of other tools and technologies including Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake, Talend, Denodo, Informatica, Trifacta, Delta Lake, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Alteryx, PowerBI, Tableau Prep, Cognos, ThoughtSpot, DB2, Oracle, MS SQL, Windows, i5/OS, z/OS, AIX, Linux, Jira, Monday, APIs / RESTful services, C#, Java, Python, and Agile Methodology.

The job is based out of CDW’s Vernon Hills, IL headquarters but the employee may work remotely from anywhere in the U.S.
