The Associate Director of Packaging will play a pivotal role in leading our packaging team to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of high-quality packaging solutions. This individual will oversee the development, implementation, and optimization of packaging strategies, while also managing a team of packaging professionals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of packaging materials and technologies, and a proven track record of driving innovation and excellence in packaging design and execution.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in packaging development, with 10 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • In-depth knowledge of packaging materials, technologies, and processes, with a focus on sustainability and environmental impact.
  • Strong portfolio and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and coordinate cross-functional technical teams to meet deadlines and stay on budget.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, with a track record of inspiring and motivating teams to achieve results and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools and systems, such as CAD software, packaging design software, and ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to packaging, including FDA, ISO, and ASTM standards



What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Lead and manage the Global packaging team focused on packaging sustainability, including setting goals, objectives, and priorities, and providing guidance and support to team members.
  • Develop and implement packaging strategies aligned with business objectives, ensuring cost-effectiveness, sustainability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, procurement, and supply chain operations, to ensure packaging solutions meet product specifications, branding guidelines, and market demands.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance packaging efficiency, sustainability, and innovation, utilizing industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor packaging performance, analyze data, and identify opportunities for optimization and cost reduction.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes affecting packaging, and proactively recommend strategies to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Build and maintain an external network within the packaging industry, with the ability to influence and drive coalitions of technical leaders in packaging sustainability.
  • Lead and manage a packaging development strategy across multiple life cycles, connecting with Sensory and consumer insights to help address and transform latent consumer needs into delighters.
