Join AIR as a Technical Assistance Associate with our Learning Supports program area, where we provide research and technical assistance to federal, state, and local clients, primarily focusing on the supports children need to be ready to learn in the K-12 education system. Our Learning Supports program area uses a proactive and preventative framework to support these content areas:
Early childhood
English learners
Multi-tiered system of support
Special education

AIR's Technical Assistance Associate will support training and technical assistance (TTA) focused on various topics related to special education and multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS). The candidate will have technical assistance experience providing training, facilitation and coaching support to teachers, administrators, related service providers, and/or early childhood personnel. This position may include experience with developing and operating virtual training and communication through Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other platforms. Candidates hired for the position might working remotely or from one of AIR's office locations.
Candidates hired for the position may work remotely within the United States (U.S.) or from one of our U.S. office locations.This does not include U.S. territories.

Responsibilities

 

The responsibilities for the position include:
Assist with and/or provide TTA on related topics including MTSS and special education
Work directly with clients, including educators and school leadership, to assess and provide recommendations on MTSS and related topics
Contribute to the development of training materials, toolkits, curricula, and assessment tools on various subtopics within special education and MTSS for diverse stakeholder audiences, including educators and other interdisciplinary professionals working within local education agencies (LEAs) or state education agencies (SEAs)
Support the design, development, implementation, delivery, and maintenance of resources on topics related to MTSS and/or special education
Interact with state, local, and site-based staff; potential clients; and partner organizations
Contribute to team efforts to develop new business opportunities, including strategic planning to grow existing work and supporting proposals for new work
Commitment to building a diverse and inclusive work environment
Contribute to presentations at professional conferences and webinars
Assist with writing for publication
Available for project travel

 


Qualifications

 

Education, Knowledge, and Experience:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in education, special education, youth development, early childhood, or other related fields or Master's degree
Experience providing TTA (e.g., professional learning, ongoing coaching) on related topics including special education and MTSS
Knowledge or experience translating content into practice for policymakers, practitioners, higher education faculty, families, or other stakeholders
Working knowledge and experience working within MTSS as a comprehensive framework and understanding of key elements of MTSS (e.g., universal screening, progress monitoring, multi-level preventative... For full info follow application link.
