FULL-TIME CLINICAL PEDIATRIC SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
(CLINICAL ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, NON-TENURE ELIGIBLE)
The Roxelyn and Richard Pepper Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Northwestern University is searching for a speech-language pathologist to join the dynamic team of clinical faculty as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Northwestern University Center for Audiology, Speech, Language, and Learning (NUCASLL) on the Evanston campus. NUCASLL is a multifaceted university-based Center whose mission is to provide the highest quality hearing, speech-language, and learning healthcare to Northwestern University and Chicagoland community members. NUCASLL serves as our students' first clinical education setting where we focus on developing graduate students into exceptional clinicians committed to being lifelong learners and leaders in their community and profession.
A successful applicant has a strong interest in clinical teaching and developing students early in their clinical education, uses evidence-based practices, and provides high-quality, compassionate clinical care to a school-aged population. The Center for Audiology Speech, Language, and Learning is housed in a new state-of-the-art facility. The Center provides services for approximately 6500 patient visits a year and has strong partnerships with world-renowned research scientists housed within the Northwestern University Communication and Sciences Disorders Department.
Employment term: An 11-month appointment. The appointment may be renewed on an annual basis.
Qualifications:
Earned Master's, SLPD, or Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology
Eligibility for Illinois SLP licensure
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence
Experience in one or more of the following areas: school-age speech and language; autism spectrum disorder; social communication; fluency; knowledge of technology-based therapy services
Duties:

Provide exceptional, evidence-based diagnostic and treatment for clients on a pediatric caseload.
Develop the clinical skills of graduate students via direct instruction and supervision within a team-based educational model.
Assist in student advising and other activities related to student development.
Participate in professional activities and service to the University, community, and the profession.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.

The departments span the communication arts and sciences including the Department of Radio-Television-Film, the Roxelyn and Richard Pepper Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, the Department of Communication Studies, the Department of Performance Studies, and the Department of Theatre (which includes music theatre and dance). The faculty of over 180 includes 102 tenure-eligible faculty. The school offers instruction to roughly 1000 undergraduate majors and 650 graduate and professional students.
