The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and the Department of Pediatrics at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seek a full time, BC/BE pediatric hematologist with expertise and interest in immune hematology and/or bone marrow failure disorders at the Instructor, Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank on the Clinician-Educator track (non-tenure). Medical directorship of these programs will be considered based on experience. Responsibilities will include inpatient and outpatient clinical care, interdisciplinary program building, teaching and contribution to the growth of the clinical and translational research program within the Section of Hematology.
The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Lurie Children's Hospital and the Division of Hematology, Oncology & Stem Cell Transplantation are highly ranked nationally and comprise 28 physician/physician scientist faculty, 2 PhD research faculty and 38 advanced practice providers across sections of Hematology, Oncology, Neuro-Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation.
The Section of Hematology houses nationally recognized programs in the areas of sickle cell disease and thalassemia, hemostasis and thrombosis, and general hematology. Our ambulatory activities are conducted at the main hospital and across 5 outreach sites in the Chicagoland area. The section includes 7 faculty physicians, 4 advanced practice providers, 7 nurses, 2 social workers, 2 program outreach coordinators, a dedicated neuro-psychologist and a genetic counselor. The section also holds a large and diverse portfolio of research initiative that are federally funded, consortium-led (e.g., ICON, NAPAAC), investigator-initiated, and industry-sponsored, with support from 6 research coordinators.
Applicants must have an M.D., D.O., M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree and be board-certified or eligible in pediatric hematology/oncology. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.
