Your Job
Molex is currently seeking a talented Applications Engineer to join our team. In this role you will play a critical role in providing technical support and expertise as well as influencing our AEC products in the fastest growing market segment for datacenter networking and AI applications. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the successful integration and utilization of products and solutions within the customer's environment. You will serve as the bridge between technical teams and customers, helping to troubleshoot issues, offer solutions, and build strong customer relationships. This is an exciting opportunity to join a young team on the ground floor and can open a path to additional leadership roles within Molex.

Our Team
Molex is looking for a Lead Application Engineer to support and develop Active cable designs for Hyperscalers. Our business is witnessing tremendous growth owing to the increasing need for cloud services and higher data transfer rates. You will be working under leadership that has been setting and driving industry standards in data centers for more than 30 years.

What You Will Do
Work directly with customers and Molex product development teams from product conception to successful customer qualification. Manage communication channel for design-in activity in concert with internal teams.
Provide technical support of strategic accounts and drive critical customer issues to resolution with a focus on defining customer requirements (evaluation, validation and final qualification).
Work with engineering team to define product test requirements based on the customer's application across the fleet of switch and NIC card combinations.
Interpret industry standards, customer requirements, and competitive intelligence to provide guidance into product features and performance requirements to meet customer module/AEC qualification.
Maintain expert level of product knowledge and application for transceiver bit rates of 400G and beyond (QSFP, QSFP-DD, OSFP).
Mentor application & development engineers on technical challenges in networking module systems.
Generate marketing collateral such as data sheets, application notes and EEPROM and firmware documents.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related field.
5+ years of experience as design/system/applications engineer with a minimum of 2 years of direct customer facing experience is highly desired.
Experienced in system failure analysis and de-bugging.
Strong knowledge of hardware (electrical, optical, mechanical) and embedded software/firmware.
Knowledge of networking PHY layer architecture (Ethernet).
Knowledge of transceiver technology and architecture.
Hands-on lab experience.
Demonstrated ability to dynamically prioritize assignments and work independently.

What Will Put You Ahead
Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Physics.
Direct experience in optical or electrical transceivers, AOC or AEC cable assemblies.
Familiarity with high-speed PCB layout, signal integrity, assembly, and manufacturing.
Good knowledge in programming languages like C and Python.
Ability to write scripts for automation.

If you have questions, please speak to your recruiter about the flexibility and detail of our compensation philosophy. For this role, we anticipate paying $150,000-225,000. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
