Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Land Surveyor, we'll count on you to:
Perform boundary and topographic surveys for railroad related projects (track, bridge and/or intermodal).
Perform pre-construction staking, construction staking and as-builts for railroad related projects (track, bridge and/or intermodal).
Perform boundary and topographic surveys for roadway related projects (IDOT, Illinois Tollway, County, and/or City).
Perform pre-construction staking, construction staking and as-builts for roadway related projects (IDOT, Illinois Tollway, County, and/or City).
Perform county research and review documents in order to complete survey objectives.
Review client records in order to complete survey objectives.
Consult with clients, project managers, team members and site superintendents/construction crews on projects.
Provide technical expertise, as it relates to land surveying, to colleagues.
Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Associate's degree in land surveying/related science or a minimum of 5 years of land surveying experience.
Experience with railroad related projects (track, bridge and/or intermodal).
Experience with roadway related projects (IDOT, Illinois Tollway, County, and/or City).
Experience with Trimble Equipment/Software.
Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation (preferred).
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned company is a must
Preferred Qualifications
Illinois Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or Surveyor-in-Training (SIT).
Experience with boundary surveys in a rural setting.
Experience in project management.
Experience in staff management.
