Your responsibilities
This position is located in Danville, IL. Are you skilled in automation, machine controls, PLC and robotics? If you answered yes, then our Controls Engineer position is the right fit for you! The Controls Engineer reports to the Forging Maintenance Manager and is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing plant equipment as well as taking on and overseeing special electronics projects. Specific Responsibilities of the Job Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair plant equipment and Robots involving checking voltages, changing out bad components, switching out gauges, as well as making camera and software adjustments Program PLCs and diagnose machine faults/failures Research and recommend machine control upgrades to address outdated controls Document changes to electrical drawings and generate upgraded drawings Prepare daily log reports and document/track the to ensure proper follow up on machine problems and repairs Work on special projects such as machine function additions and troubleshooting Modify and improve PLC programming and HMIs at the request of the customer
Your profile
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Minimum 1-3 years of experience troubleshooting electronic controls in a manufacturing setting Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of electronics Knowledge of ABB and/or Fanuc robot electronic maintenance and programming Knowledge of automated transfer systems Knowledge of Siemens, Allen Bradley, and Fanuc control systems Understanding of schematics and program reading Knowledge of PLC programming, Robot troubleshooting experience, and AC/ DC servo drive experience Complex algebraic mathematical ability Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Project Management skills Must have excellent oral and written English language ability
