Role: Accountant

Rate: $25-$30

Location: Burr Ridge, IL

Duration: Contract to hire

Hours: This is an hourly payment position requiring on-site hours of 8am to 4:30pm, which includes ½ hour lunch and two 10-minute breaks.

Junior Accountant with advancement potential to become Accounting Supervisor with the proper education and experience.

Requirements:

+ Education Required: High School Diploma with 5+ years experience

+ Education Requested: Some college, 3+ years experience, or degree and 1+ year experience

Applications currently used for this position:

+ Sage 100 Advanced 2020 (Version 6.20.6.0) and Crystal Reports v11; Microsoft Office 365 Outlook and Excel; Altec

+ DocLink Paperless Office (Workflow and repository)

+ Requesting at least one-year previous experience processing Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and general accounting tasks.

+ Proven competency using Microsoft Outlook and Excel. Must have previous experience with ERP Accounting software. The company uses Sage 100 however SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, Acumatica and other ERP’s would be similar.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

+ General bookkeeping tasks, Accounts Payable expense processing including Credit Card statement reconciliations and

+ Accounts Receivable assistance.

+ Daily reconciliation of bank statements for operating accounts. Cash management.

+ Daily review of SO, PO, AR, AP and some Warehouse information to be alert for any significant changes.

+ Assist staff with analysis of inventory movement and advise for the most efficient Sage processing.

+ Monthly- quarterly- year end closings including journal entries, Financial statement review and then submit reports

+ quarterly and year-end to outside Accounting firm for review.

+ Provide sales tax documents to vendors to relieve sales tax. Includes research for current limitations by state.

+ Monthly Sales Tax report for Illinois, quarterly for Wisconsin.

+ When needed, assist the Purchasing Department with vendor contacts regarding missing product, damaged product and

+ other follow-up for replacements and credits.

+ Research credits owed by vendors for returns.

+ Create refund checks to customers when valid.

+ To cover for Staff vacation days or to answer questions from co-workers:

+ Process Purchase Order vendor invoices 3- or 4-way match (SO to PO to Invoice, to SO Invoice). Volume varies.

+ Process Customer invoices for Drop ship Vendor invoices.

+ Reconcile Vendor statements. (Supervisor should be spot-checking statements)

+ Phone contact with customers answering customer questions relating to billing, includes accepting credit card payments

+ over the phone.

+ Review and update SO Invoices to customers from any source (LTL, warehouse, credits).

+ Post payments from customers (ACH, check, credit cards).

+ Contact customers regarding past-due accounts, strong follow-up skills relating to those contacts.

+ Review of orders to determine if released when account past-due.

+ Review of credit applications and credit reports for new accounts, and review of existing accounts when credit increase

+ requested.

Possible additional tasks depending on experience:

+ Weekly and Monthly commission processing using Crystal Reports and intermediate Excel, includes analysis of activity to

+ be certain costs flowed through properly for commission purposes.

+ Assist IT Manager with issues for PCs in house relating to software updates, questions relating to Sage processes.

+ Create sales, inventory and other reporting for Management as needed using Crystal Reports, Sage and/or Excel.
