Job Description
Overview
Unit Clerk, Emergency Room, Javon Bea Hospital - Riverside, Night Shift, 72 hours / 2 weeks
Prepares and compiles records, and processes orders in a hospital setting, by performing the following duties, supporting the nursing philosophy. May include weekends, holidays, day, evening, or night shift hours. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Processes orders in an accurate and timely manner.
Answers the telephone and call lights appropriately and provides information or relays messages to patients and staff.
Directs visitors to patients' rooms.
Maintains medical records of current patients.
Processes patient charges and orders supplies as needed.
Floats to various units based on identified need.
Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities.
Education and Experience
Completion of Unit clerk course or equivalent on the job training
Certification/Licensure
Approved CPR or BLS certification within 90 days.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; reach; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by this job include frequent close vision.
