Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, plastics technology/engineering, materials science, or related field
Technical Skills Required:
- Proficiency with computer, especially with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- 1-3 years of experience in plastic and/or adhesive material selection, manufacturing, and/or design
- Ability to learn basic print reading and data analysis tools
- Experience with Comparing/contrasting material properties
Soft Skills Required:
- Good organizational skills, ability to work independently, and good oral and written communication skills
- Willingness and motivation to learn new technologies and concepts
Typical task breakdown:
- Reviewing material specifications (mostly polymers and adhesives)
- Consulting with design engineers to determine the suitability of materials for applications
- Preparing summary reports
- Attending technical meetings
- Lab testing as needed
- Comparing/contrasting material properties
Interaction with team:
- Daily, one-on-one discussions with various team members and internal clients
- E-mails and messaging
- In-person and virtual Teams meetings
