Position: Registered Nurse
Location: Skokie, IL
Part-Time: 24 hours per week
Hours: Monday-Friday, Day Shift, 3-days per week 8:00a-4:30p
Required Travel: NA

A Brief Overview:
The Pre-Procedure Services Staff Nurse ensures the safety and efficient preparation of patients for surgical or invasive procedures. They assess patients' medical histories, and collaborate with other healthcare disciplines to ensure patients are ready and optimally prepared. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and clinical expertise will contribute to the overall quality of care provided to patients.

Utilizes the nursing process to assess, diagnosis, plan, implement and evaluate the delivery of nursing care to patients and their families.

Integrates evidence-based practice and research findings into nursing practice.
Recognizes and adjusts to situations that vary from the norm.

Maintains a safe therapeutic working environment and recognizes need for action in emergency situations.
Documentation is thoroughly and timely completed
Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience
Conducts thorough assessments of patients scheduled for surgical or invasive procedures to evaluate their physical and emotional readiness.
Reviews patient's medical histories, including pre-existing conditions, allergies, medications, and previous surgeries to identify potential complications and risks.
Provide patients and families with detailed information about the upcoming procedure, what to expect, preoperative instructions.
Work closely with MD offices, anesthesia providers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.

What you will need:
License: Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of IL required
Education: Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing required
BSN strongly preferred
Certification: BLS/CPR Certification for the Healthcare Provider required
Experience: At least one year of experience as a Staff Nurse, previous Pre-Admission Testing experience preferred, Epic proficiency preferred
