Full Time
We seek a highly committed, creative, qualitative researcher to occupy an important role in our diverse, interdisciplinary, and expanding team committed to creating evidence to prevent childhood adversity and promote family well-being by strengthening partnerships in communities and with lived experts. The Senior Researcher will have the ability to lead the design and implementation of qualitative research and contribute to mixed methods studies; support study execution and adaptation; and contribute integrated approaches to data analysis and co-interpretation with a set of diverse project partners. This position entails a primary focus on qualitative research methods with a commitment to working within a team to bring a range of data sources and types to inform understanding and action.

The successful candidate will have a track record of accomplishment that connects closely to our agenda in prevention including collective action/impact, strengthening systems of care, prioritizing family voice, and promoting systems reform that will reduce over-reliance on the child welfare system among families in need. We seek an individual who will join existing projects and project teams and will be motivated to pursue with increasing autonomy a research agenda focused on prevention and well-being. Project teams are integrated and include Chapin Hall staff with policy, implementation, and research expertise.
The position will support two primary evaluations that share common characteristics in their goals, activities, and evaluation plans aimed at understanding effective approaches to preventing childhood adversity and promoting family well-being. One is national in scope and the other is statewide with the potential for expansion. We desire a researcher who can contribute to project teams in research design, implementation, interpretation, and dissemination with multiple, diverse audiences. We seek experience in reflexive qualitative research and ability to join interdisciplinary teams comprised of state, local, and national partners (foundations, non-profits, government agencies, lived experts). Experience conducting cross-site evaluations is desired. There is also an opportunity to join evaluation teams focused on evaluation of specific prevention programs related to the Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA).
