Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking a Scientist, Geologist, or Engineer to support our team of environmental professionals. The position will assist in the completion of project level work to support environmental investigation and remediation and water resource projects. Primary responsibilities will be related to performing key tasks to support field implementation of assessment plans.

Your Key Responsibilities

+ Perform and document field data collection activities (including oversight of subcontractors).

+ Assist in the completion of project level work (data management, report preparation) on environmental remediation/management projects for commercial/industrial clients.

+ Conduct multi-media sampling (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, soil gas, indoor air).

+ Oversee advancement of soil and rock borings, installation of groundwater monitoring wells, manage subcontractors and minor soil excavation projects.

+ Learn and follow standard operating procedures for work assigned.

+ Draft technical reports.

+ Work will be conducted under the supervision of a project manager or a field team leader.

+ Demonstrate ability to analyze field and technical data.

+ Complete applicable company and client required health & safety training (including OSHA required training) and follow health & safety policies and procedures.

+ Ability to travel, including long-term assignments, is required for the purpose of performing environmental investigations and remediation and water resource projects.

+ Ability to effectively communicate project status to project manager and appropriate staff.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

+ Strong technical writing skills.

+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

+ Ability to pass drug test, background check, physical, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s driving policy.

+ Working knowledge of field sampling techniques.

+ Be an advocate for the Company’s and client’s health and safety programs.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in geology/hydrogeology, environmental science, engineering, or related field.

No environmental consulting industry experience required; Up to 3 years of experience preferred.

40-hour OSHA Hazwoper training.
