Interface Engineering Inc., an internationally recognized leader in high performance building design, is seeking to add a Fire Protection Engineer/Designer to our Chicago, IL team. This is a hybrid position. The incumbent Fire Protection Engineer will typically work from home 3 days/week and work in our Chicago, IL office, or at a client site, 2 days/week. As a Fire Protection Engineer at Interface Engineering, your responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:
- Fire alarm design
- Fire alarm calculations
- Fire sprinkler system design
- Water-based or special hazard-based fire protection systems design
- Hydraulic and water supply calculations
- Evaluation of existing building fire protection and alarm systems
- Commissioning in fire alarm and fire protection systems
- Special inspections
- Building code analysis
- Due diligence report generation
- Client interaction
