Job Description

The Senior Software Test Engineer at CNH Industrial America LLC in Oak Brook, IL will provide technical leadership and directly perform testing responsibilities on a CNH team that specializes in touchscreen display testing. The duties include maintaining, designing, and operating the test equipment and simulators along with the automated tests for embedded software. Providing technical leadership of active testing activities involving globally located team members. Defining testing strategies and future road mapping for display verification. Designing, developing, and maintaining the automated test systems used for display verification. Executing testing on multiple hardware variants per software release. Developing robust, flexible, and re-usable test scripting for automated testing. Analyzing test failures to identify root causes, such as incorrect test case or software defect. Creating test reports, defects, and communicate test results to team members. Collaborating with the software, system, and hardware engineering teams to gather inputs for testing the devices under test. Analyzing requirements and test requests to define the testing approach, changes, and test plans. Managing supplier test development and other supporting activities. Identifying and implementing new procedures for process improvements. Telecommuting is permitted up to 3 days per week. Salary: 115,500-$166,100/year.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field, plus 5 years of experience as a Test Engineer, Software Engineer, Project Lead or related occupation. The 5 years of experience must include 5 years of experience with each of the following: 1) developing test scripts using Python; 2) performing manual testing and recording test results; 3) creating, improving, and debugging test cases; 4) researching and implementing process improvements; 5) testing of touchscreen displays or user interfaces, and 6) using tools for CAN or LIN testing and debugging.
